i have a 12 gallon jbj nano reef tank. i was wandering how often i need to change the bulbs???

I just turned my old 25 gallon fresh water tank into a reef tank. My power compact is over 16 month old. I know this is not good. I will have to wait few weeks before to get new one. do you think it will be ok?

If you have corals no is the short answer. Bulbs this far past there due date have had a significant shift in the color spectrum that they are better for supporting algae growth than they are for corals.
