Hi all,
The other day i was lucky enough to pick up a White Ray / Yasha Goby and Pistol Shrimp pair from an LFS.
They were paired in the store but of course when i put them in the tank they've lost each other... Does anyone have any idea how i can get these two back together?

If you leave them alone they will find each otrher again, it may take a day or two but IME shrimp/goby pairs pair up fairly quickly. I have a single randalls pistol shrimp in a 10 gallon that has 2 hi finned red banded gobies and I see the shrimp go from one fishes burrow to the other as its mood suits him, it is pretty neat to watch him trying to maintain two different burrows. I plan to either remove one of the fish or add a second pistol in the future.

Cool, i think they may've found each other already, only thing is they're quite shy. Any hot tips on how to get them out more?

They are going to be pretty shy at first. As long as there is nothing in the tank to bully them you will see them more often as they become settled but they are not the kind to stay out in the open all of time.

Yuh i know, they were hiding in the shop, but were in like a ting 5gal with peppermint shrimps etc, and nowhere really to dig...
I'm hoping they'll eventually come round the front of the rocks, atm they're right inside, as far as im aware at least, as i can't see either and the goby isnt by the filter as initially...
We shall see how it goes...

The main drawback to seeing them is if they decide to face the opening to their burrow away from one of the viewing sides, otherwise you should see them near the burrow entrance fairly frequently.

Well good news, i woke up at 2am this morning to find the goby alone asleep at front of tank, and thought not yet obviously. 5 hours later i've found them digging a hole right in the middle of the tank :D

Even when they are in the same burrow you will see alot more of the gobie by itself while the pistol stays in the burrow doing whatever it does all of the time.
