Pic of the week --- Fish

Fish can be the most problematic to take pics of. Especially the free-swimming variety. They just don't like to sit still for some reason.

Anyway, post your favorite fish pics. Doesn't matter what kind of fish it is, just try to keep the images at 450x600 or less.

Here's one I like of my mail perc playing in the goniopora. He thinks it's his anemone.

Another one.

The female in the RBTA.

Brian,

nice pictures,,, but I have a question. I've heard Gonipora corals, aka flower pots have a high death rate, I've had them in the past,,, and they go in 3 months or less.

Especially if a clown is hosting it, it doesn't get to expand...

Goniopora and alveoporas aren't the same thing. Alveoporas are the normal flowerpots. Gonioporas are the 'branching flowerpots'. I've had one of each. The alveopora didn't make it. The goniopora I got from another reefer that had it in his tank for 2yrs, and had been through some fairly bad things, so I got it and it's done great. Made it through the move with no problems, it doesn't contract at all with the clown hosting it. I have heard the same thing about them being difficult, with my limited experience I'd try another 'branching flowerpot' but not one of the normal ones.

interesting...

how much did the branching flower pot run you?? That's cool they last 2 years as opposed to the normal flower pot that doesn't live that long.

Steve,

Flower pots are so pretty, but they do expand. You might try a very little one, but I would work on getting mushrooms in your nano for the color and the diversity that you are looking for.

I got this guy and put him in my nano at work. He lasted just over a week before the mushroom in the last pic ate him. The mushroom got moved into the octo tank at the house.
