Open Brain Aiptasia Anemone

An Aiptasia Anemone grew on the base rock where my open brain is attached to. I usually use Joe's juice to take care of aiptasia, but I am not sure if it would harm the brain if used it in this specific case since it's so close to the coral.

Do you guys recommend anything, so I wouldn’t hurt the open brain coral?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question... but that's a gorgeous coral and cute little Watchman Goby. I have one, too. They are such funny little creatures. Mine has started "watching" me now when I'm near the tank.

I think that it shouldnt be a problem. Just be careful and only apply a little bit of joes to the aiptasia...i have used this in very close proximity to my zoas and no problems. In order for the stuff to harm something it must sit on the surface for a period of time...even brief contact wont necessarily hurt the brain.

You may want to make a "shield" out of a plastic soda bottle to make sure the Joes Juice only goes on the aiptasia. Just an idea, Skip

Thanks so much for the advice guys. I am going to use Joe’s juice on the guy and hopefully it won’t have any side effects on the brain.
I think it’s going to be fine, as long it's applied it carefully w/ out making a mess.

Your brain should be able to handle the small zap of the juice. It will most likely recoil from it but shouldn't have any long term problems.
