Not really sure

My wife and I have started our first tank (55g freswater), she quickly took that over so I'm looking for my own project. I've been looking at the JBJ 28g HQI, also the Red Sea Max 34g. I read it is better to start with larger tanks, easier to manipulate the parameters. Just wondering if the self contained are better than just buy everything seperate. I'd like to do a few fish, soft coral, maybe some hard corals, and of coarse a cleaning crew. Any advice would be wonderful.

Thanks,
Thomas

If that is all you want then a tank like the 28 g HQI is probably more then you need. buying one of the self contained kits makes everything a lot easier.... you don't have to research all the different products and end up being dissapointed because there was a better option. As for those two tanks specifically I don't know much about them. I do know that a lot of people were way excited about the 28 HQI when it first came out. Ever since it's been out haven't heard much about it though.

good luck and keep us posted on what ever you choose.

And :welcome to nanotank.
