depends on how often you change/clean it. I think im gonna just buy one of those bulk bags of the foam at petsmart and just cut to fit the filter cannister and change it often..
It doesn't filter anything other than to keep the bubbles low, to change it means to completely remove the skimmer and take it apart. I think I may just get rid of it entirely and buy some sort of bubble trap instead.
