Night LEDs and Daytime Lights Question

I have a 24 g NanoCube DX with the night time LEDs and regular day twin 36w lights. However, having them on a timer seems to throw a kink in there. It seems that the power source supplies both the Night lights and the Day lights. Is there a way to have the day lights on a timer and the night LEDs to remain on when the day lights go off? Or is it all linked together and i have to make a major mod to fix that?
