Got a great deal on a chunk of xenia at my lfs, put it in my tank and after a few hours i noticed it was still closed and not pulsing. i moved it closer to the light, after a day and night its pulsing slightly but still not opening fully. is this a problem or could it still be settleing in ? it was quite active at the lfs.

May be still acclimating. Amount of flow different? I've noticed that any pulsing xenia I've had prefers indirect random flow.

Yes i think it may well be, its attached itself to the rock and has (although not fully) opened up alot. A good sign maybe ?

Yep. If after a couple days you still haven't seen them open up I personally would try adjust flow or moving to different spot. Xenia is pretty tough stuff though.
