Neat shell... what is it??

Sorry for the poor pic...macros suck with my camera!!!

Anyway..this thing has only been seen at night. Cool shell and moves quickly when light hits it. Looks like a snail of some sort..

Some sort of stomatella snail. Beneficial... hitchhiked on something.

it will definately be stomatella ..i have some exactly the same...they are so fast for a snail!!

If you happen to be watching them at the right time you'll notice them releasing little puffs of smoke into the water column, which happens to be sperm/eggs. Very neat to watch!
