Narkons 3 gal Eclipse journey

Well we got a doggie, and my son is spending all his time on that, so I get his 3 gal Eclipse, I am converting it from freshwater over to saltwater. I am thinking of using 2x13 watts on it, but haven't decide to do which bulbs. 6.5K + Actinic; 10K+Actinic, 2 50/50, 1 50/50 + 1 actinic. Worried there will be to much blue with a 50/50 and actinic, but would like to have the dawn and dusk effect if 2 50/50. Any suggestions?

Right now just have the 6 watt 9" 6.5K T-5 that comes with the tank.

And I don't know if I want to do the HOB filter either.

Here is the pic of it:

Its less than 24 hours old when this picture yesterday.

Really sugar? I would do 1 10,000k and 1 actinic. I guess we all have differing opinions but 2 50/50s probably would have the exact same effect. Your ballast for the 2X13 most likey won't have seperate on/off buttons anyways so the dawn/dusk effect is out the window. Check my 2.5 gal pics to see a few differing lighting comparisions. At one point I had the 6.5k and HATED it.

I don't think you can get the dusk/dawn effect if you use 50/50s. For simplicity's sake I'd just go with 2 50/50s, but if you really want that dusk/dawn effect I'd go with one actinic and one 10k.

The one I was looking at has two ballast, so it would be 2 cords not one. So I could do the dawn dusk, or I could have day, birght day, day if I did the 2x 50/50s.

But yall do think the 1 50/50 and 1 Actinic is to much blue right?

For that size tank/bulb I'd get a 50/50, a 10k, and an actinic, and just try different combos until you get the light you like. Since they're only $6-$10 each at hellolights I'd just experiment, and keep the odd-man-out bulb as an emergency replacement in case something burns out.

I don't know if they're just out or not, but hellolights does not carry 13W 10,000K bulbs. You can get actinic, 7,100K blue, 6,500K daylight, or 50/50. (I just ordered a 7,100K, an actinic, and a 6,500K for my nano. If it turns out too blue, I might have to rethink that.) Anyway, this is just an FYI post. . .

Well, I still don't have the lights, and might not til after January (my own choice), but I now have some GSP, and a new set of zoas, and one mushroom that I got that wasn't attached to a rock, that I am trying to attach, and it looks like it is trying to die. (mushrooms hate me). :(

(They must know I like to eat fungi)

I think I want to make this a zoa and shroom tank, with maybe nothing else in the tank but them? What yall think?

Absolutely nothing wrong with that! I've seen some incredible zoo only tanks, and adding some colorful shrooms would really add some impact to the tank.

check out my tank pics it is the same setup you have. I just posted pictures, I don't believe that dawn/dusk has any real benefit so I just went with a 2x50/50 combo. I am adding a actinic 03 so that should be 3x13 watt pc's. What I'm going for is more flouresence.
