NanoSkim Skimmer, worth it?

Wondering if the Nanoskim surface skimmer work? I have a Biocube nano skimmer that I recently put in, and my tank is relatively new. I'm not getting gunk in the cup yet. I am getting quite a bit of surface skum that just sorta swirls around..... will my skimmer get this eventually, or should I get one of those NanoSkim surface skimmer also? My tank is a 24 Nanocube.

IMO surface skimming and protein skimming are two totally different things and yes you would see an improvement by using both. You can DIY a surface skimmer using a tape case (cassette tape or something similar).
