Okay guys I just purchased a cube masters 12g deluxe....first off what do you guys think of this system Ive heard mixed thoughts about it. I do know that the lighting might not be up to par. Anyway Im starting this from the beginning. and need as much advice i can get.

3 x 8 watts isn't much. I'm not sure you can house any light demanding corals. I've not seen this tank up close so I won't be much help, but if there is any Bio media you may want to throw it out.

By the way...

:welcome to Nanotank!!!

Not much you can do with the lighting except gut it and retro in something or go topless and use a different lighting fixture. DO you have a plan yet for what corals you want to house?

Wow. I never thought about that. I lived in Hawaii when I was a kid, but didn't have any saltwater fish tanks. How do people get coral legally?

you cant cause its illegal to take it from the ocean too...but thats what people do....everybody here gets most there coral and fish from divers...its pretty weird i think....i mean its hawaii there is plenty to go around....then there is a forum here called reef hawaii but you cant talk about selling over even trading coral cause you will get flagged....I JUST WANT SOME FRAGS!

How much is overnight to Hawaii? I don't even know if online vendors will send them to you.
Using a honolulu zip it is just shy of $40 USPS express mail 4.5 pounds, and it takes 2 days.

Sorry, that is just a quote for what it would cost to ship through the US postal service, not through a coral website.

So are those pieces in your tank from the wild or were they aqua cultured in your friend's tank?

? Polyps ? Not sure what genus or species. :???: Green star polyps, xenia (or clove) for that smaller frag. Then feather dusters. I'm not great with ID but that's what it looks like to me.
