My new critter :)

Meet "Anakin", a 6 week old African White Necked Raven.

I just got him yesterday, and he is being handfed. He wears "jesses" on his feet. You will see them as blue wiry looking things. I cut those off today and ordered him some smaller, soft leather ones. It's so you can take them outdoors on a lead line and let them fly.

Corvids are extremely smart birds! They have some stinky poop though, since they eat dog food at this age!

Anakin is only 6 weeks old......he will get bigger still!

He's a great bird, but I don't know him real well yet. Being that he is a baby..he sleeps alot. I know they are supposed to be extremely smart...right up there with apes and marine mammals.

I have found his pitfalls to be stinky poop mostly. He eats meat....so his poop is somewhere between dog crap and bird poop. Quite yucky. And, its projectile.

I will be moving in August, and will be then able to build him a outdoor flight, where I will have to deal with poop less.

I wonder how he will react to watching the fish tank when he gets older?
