moon light suggestion pictures added

Hi I am new(and new to nano tanks started in october of 04) here I have a 7 gallon bow front and a 5 gallonfor moon lights I went to the to a local auto store and found "dash lights" made by type s I got a cig lighter adapter to plug into a wall the come with a pivot head and allows you to adjust the beam the lights are a blue color and give a nice nite time glow they are led so they should last when you attatche them to the hood use rubbing alchol let dry and apply and for around 20 dollars you have a moon light

You can get essentially the same thing at most computer stores. Gamers use them on their case mods.

You still have to do a small amount of wiring to get it to plug into the wall, but it's pretty minor.

thanks incysor but the ones that we have have no wireing needed besides I dont know the first thing about wiring :lol: :roll: :shock: HEHEHEHEHE

Be very careful about getting that cig adapter wet! Nanos no cool when you burn down the house. If you can try to seal it or add a drip loop as well. good luck. Ya know I bought my coralife moons at hellolights.com for about the same price. Just a thought. But I do like your ingenuity. Keep up the cool work. :smile:

I feel like if you are not comfortable with wiring then you should play it safe and buy a factory made moonlight, they are not that expensive and alot safer if you aren't 100% sure about your wiring skills. A couple of $$$ saved on DIYing a moonlight isn't worth the cost of replacing a home lost to a fire. JMO, Skip

PS I have also seen some ready made moonlights on Ebay for a decent price.

as soon as I can I will add pictures all wiring is on a shelf aprox 1 foot behind the tank with drip loops the adapter we have is one that you can plug your cell phone cig lighter in to a wall outlet so there is no cutting involved . every thing runs through a surge protector then battery next thing we get is a ground fault protector

1 yellow tail damsel
1 clown *don't know the brand*
2 baby stars only the size of a pencil eraser just appeared
1 sebae purple tip anenome *grown aprox 1 inch in the past 2 months since I got him*
