Micro Bubble Help

Just bought a 14g. Oceanic Bio Cube. Have had it up and running about 2 weeks. I continually get micro bubbles coming out of the return. I've checked all the connections to make sure they are tight, the sponge is in the right place to prevent bubbles from entering the pump. I even had Oceanic send me a new pump.......still having micro bubbles.

Anyone else ever had this problem, any suggestions on what to check or how to solve would be greatly appreciated.

well come to nanotank.

just a thought, try tapping the pump when its running. there might be some air bubbles trapped near the impellar. another thing, how low is your water level? if its to close to the pump it will do the same thing. HTH

:welcome to Nanotank! I agree about the water level. You can also try plugging and unplugging the pump a few times. That helps for me when dirt gets caught in my pump.

Water level is fine. I'm now thinking the problem is that I have removed the bio balls and the water dropping in that chamber is causing the bubbles. I don't really want to put back in the bio balls. What are folks putting in this chamber other than bio balls. I was planning on putting in rubble rock once I get some.

rubble rock is a good choice to replace your bio balls. You can also try bio- bale media. its the same stuff used in CPR Bak Paks.
