Yeah what skinson said. dont forget that the pH of RO water is low and should be buffered before adding it to the tank... though the salt should be doing that for you if mixed to 1.025 SG.

How do the rest of your corals look?

i suspect more than a low pH. Mine drops to around 7.8 if I don't keep an eye on it and my xenia's don't droop any. I keep my salinity at 1.025 if that helps you any. Also be sure that you have plenty of water movement. These guys love high water flow. In fact mine have moved to directly in front of my power head.

John,

I would not worry about your PH at 7.8 the problems occur when your have large swings in PH.

My PH begins in the morning at 7.70 and at 7.85 my calcium reactor kicks in. It will rise to a PH of 7.9 before it comes down to about 7.75 in the night.

Now I don't know if you are using a meter or a test kit to measure your PH. Those test kits are not as accurate as a digital meter.

Overall, I believe that your drooping Xenia is the cause of some other chemical factor; have you added anything to your tank? You need to go back to when the xenia were okay and recall all changes made.

Hope that helps you out...

MG

p.s
A reef tank can operate anywhere from 7.7 to 8.5 so you are within range...
