Hi im new and i just started a 20 gallon nano. i was just wondering....i set up my tank 3 days ago and eveything is stable, but it doesnt look like my cycle has started i have measured ammonia and nothing. I know, I know it takes a while im just impatient :bash1: . anyway well i have some about 20 pounds of live rock(cured) in the tank. and yet again i purchased some more rock that i thought was pretty cool from the marshall islands. Well i got to to thinking if i put that marshall LR in the tank wont all the hitchhikers die???? and then i just wasted my money, because my tank hasn't cycled yet. or will most survive the cycle period?? thanks in advance bye1:

Some hithhikers are very hardy and can survive the cycle. Was the Marshall Islands rock bought as cured? And was it bought locally or was it shipped to you, because if it was shipped there is probably some die off anyway, and adding that to the tank would cause a cycle of somesorts. I would add it now since your tank is new and then just wait about 2 weeks and then test everything to see where you are at. Just my 2 cents.
