Live rock question

I recently had a problem adding about 11.5 pds of Fiji live rock to my 12 gallon nano cube dx. Specifically, i did not turn off the filter and when I went to take out water to add the rock bubbles came out. I thought that it was actually concentrated salt from the bottom of the filter so I added distilled water and tried to bring the specific gravity back down before the live rock died. I ended up bringining down the specific gravity to about 1.017-1.018 when i added the rock. This is a little low as i know. I gradually increased the specific gravity to 1.020 during an 8 hour period. My question is whether or not the low specific gravity or the relative increase back to 1.020 could have fatally harmed the live rock? I also added live sand at the same time as the live rock. My feeling is that it should be ok but I am a bit concerned that the organisms may not have survived. I am planning on bringing the specific gravity back up to 1.022 soon but do not want to put the live rock through too much at the same time. I am a beginner, and I know this was a mistake, but how big of a mistake really was it? Thanks for the help. Joe

It'll be fine...live rock is a very tolerant entity and it may need some mild recovery/repopulation but you didn't damage it.
