I know this was posted by some one else but I think it deserves a second recongnition
I ordered some zoas from www.liveaquaria.com
My order was delayed in TN over night and the temps in the box hit 48 degrees . I called them up and they refunded my money with out hesitation . I recommend them all the way great support . The told me to go ahead acclimate them quickly under an hour and to get them into a tank with heat and lights let them be over night to see if anything survived or not I was also told that I would get the full refund unconditionally due the circumstances definitely a

I am betting that they do fine!!!

I have delt with Dr Foster and Smith(same Company) and have had the same kind of great service.

150 gallon bucket of salt mix didn't arrive the day that was posted......I called and asked if ther was a problem, they sent a free one, just in case!!!

in your experience what is the lowest temp a coral can survive ?
Like I said they were acclimated in about 1/2 hour due to the circumstances . I did have them in the 7gmb display and moved them to the 2.5 with nothing more than a cleanup crew as the residents in the 7 gallon were bugging them a bit . I think that it came with a manjano or a tulip anenome that is showing some extension but not sure what it is I will wait a bit to get a picture and post .. However none of the zoas are showing extension yet it may be a while due to the circumstances and shock

I have had them come in as low as 54* F......

If they are "not" going to make it, they usally start to dissolve pretty fast.

ed,
I know what you mean, that is the one thing keeping me from placing an order with them. I like to know "exactly" which zoo I am getting.

If they are holding together and just look closed I think they will eventually open. I received an order recently and all of the bags were about 49 degrees according to an infrared thermometer and almost everything made it. I lost a small porcelin crab and a couple of snails, those could also be because of my rapid acclimation trying to save them.

Thanks for the input Skip
we are seeing some orange starting to appear slowly they do look just closed I will be taking a picture to mark their progress the thing is that we did have them in the 7gallon but they had a seahorse that was hitching on them and looking for pods I felt that would be more irritating so I placed them in a holding 2.5 with out much more than a few snails and hermits nothing else and with 18 watts pc the techs at live aquaria said that should be enough to help the ones that do survive if any at all . How long was it before you saw them open ?

I have seen them go for days without opening when irritated. As long as they are not showing signs of deteriorating they should recover.

Patients young grasshopper patients ...........
You said that you keep moving them leave them set because as you move them you are "resetting" any progress and it makes it hard for them to adjust fully to where you move them  It some times takes them awhile to adjust to your tank system and perameters , lighting ect . I just never had them get so cold which is kinda why this is a new thing for me

Ed,

Not to hijack the thread, but try spraying them off, every day witha turkey baster. give them a pretty good shot of pressure, sometimes this helps them get going.....

sorry sadielynn, didn't mean to get off topic.....
