I have been using this LED lamps 36" for almost 9 months,
The coral & fish grew much better than when I used T5HO.

Also, I would like to find out the comments from others who are using LED lamps for their tanks, thanks

I don't think you will find too many that are using LED's on their tanks yet.

T5's are definately proven to provide enough light to allow zoanthenae to multiply and feed corals.

Can you give more info, possibly with links, to the LED's that you are using and also a quick background with some pics of your tank.

Awesome set up!

I don't have a good answer for you. If you wanted a definative response, you would have to get some PAR readings for the LED.

You can get the PAR results from others' research and forums, I think there is a good thread on reefcentral about T5 light penetration. There is also a long thread on masa.asn with par results for T5's at various depths.

Can you give us a quick run down on your set up, filtration, flow ect.

Have you got any build pics?

I don't have the links to support what I'm about to say: But if my memory serves me right the LEDs have equal to if not better PAR for MH lighting at about 150W or lower. Also VERY little heat is generated so the lighting does not have to so high off of the aquarium. Then there is the amount of energy needed to generate the light - significantly less. Man I wish I could find those links!

I use LEDs for my refuge light and it works GREAT!

By the way...

Wait until the new plasma bulbs come out!
Have you seen it on youtube?

A bulb the size of 1 LED is equivelent to a 400W MH.

Do a search, you'll trip out.
