How namy pounds of LS/LR do you think i'd need for a 12g nano? I've just been browsing on ebay and other places while my nano is still being shipped... also still need to get a marine lab for water testing among other things...

Anyway I just wanted a general idea... Thanks! :wors:

It depends on the type of live rock...some like Marshall Island are more dense and thus you would need more. Others like Fiji and others are less dense and you wouldnt need as much. I would say start with 12 lbs of small pieces...try to avoid larger pieces especially common with marshall island. when choosing LR at the LFS, check to see that there isnt much of an oder coming from the holding tank... this will help to determine how cured the LR is. Also, take your time...try to arrange the rock in a way that will be attractive with you...obviously you wont be able to set it up exactly the same way when you get it home, but it will help you out in choosing good pieces.

As far as the LS goes, go with about 20 lbs...here is a good calculator... http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/SandBed.php

If you call and tell the people at Premium Aquatics about the look you want ans the size of the tank they can help you get the right sized pieces and amount of LR for your new nanocube. I have bought from them before and they are willing to help you get whatever you need.
