It Starts

Well I just started this and thought I might as well post it here to start getting me to come here a lot to. Here are my plans.
  • 2.5 Gallon AGA
  • Glass Top
  • AquaClear 20 Modded into a fuge
  • Some type of PC light, still figuring that out
  • ~.5 Inch sand bed
  • Select pieces of LR from my cube
  • Red Strip Goby
  • Misc CUC
  • Misc Coral
Now for some pics.
The first three are of my tank going through a leak test. All went well

The rest are of me modifying the aquaclear into a fuge. I followed Malawiandude's Guide which can be found here

Take out the media holder, and snap, or in my case, cut them apart.

Figure out where you want to put the small piece.

Apply a liberal amount of silicone.
Press into place.

In order for the baffle to fit how I wanted it to, I had to trim it.

I also cut the top off, cus it would have not allowed me to the the cheato into the fuge part.

I then glued the handle how I wanted it and glued the baffle into place

It's done.

Well the first stage of my 2.5 Pico is complete. Stay tuned for part 2. Next week on My 2.5 Gallon Pico Reef. B)

Jesse, is my name. That's why its called "Jesse's Tank..."

As for the compliments for my DIY skills, I took the baffle out, It was two small to divide it in half. So if I plan on cheato, I'll get one of those Nano Filters for carbon and stuff.

As for pics of my cube, not any new ones. It's pretty dirty, have been too busy with the Pico. I'm goin to my lfs later to get some more rock, so I will see if I can get a snap shot tonight.

I'm planning a MH upgrade and a RBTA with a new pair of clowns, but shh. It's a secret

I agree with Tim. Looks cleaner and you'll have more room in your tank. Especially if it's a pico. Nice job by the way.

cbrownfish : I did that to turn my filter into a fuge, do a search, plenty of info.

MikeG : I have the 1.18, but I bought an additional 10 Watt independent T-5 Actinic bulb.

Jesse,

Why did you go that route instead of just getting the dual satellite? Would it have fit or not?

I've used those T-5 bulbs before in the past, they are great but only have a short life span, they will crap out in 2 or 3 months.
