Hi Everybody!

Here is a whole pile of pics of the new frags I scored from JohnandDawn over the weekend. You have to see John's tanks in person to fully appreciate them. His 125 is simply incredible! My BF was in awe.

Anyway, except for the zoas, I'm not even sure what I got! I'm sooooo clueless and pathetic..... This will be my first shot at SPS and I'm very excited. I especially like the pinkish one. The colors look better in my tank than I thought they would....I should probably credit John with that. I was wavering on the pink palys and he convinced me to give them a go and I'm sooooo glad I listened - their color is beautiful under my lights.

Please forgive my algae bloom on the back of the tank. I apparently have a green thumb because I can't stop that stuff from growing no matter what I do.

Eddy-

I know you love pics so I hope you won't take the subject line the wrong way. I'm hoping you will give your full commentary! You are my favorite poster. :loveface Besides John says you're cool and he knows everything (no sarcasm intended John - you know your stuff!)....so it must be true.

J&D-

I hate to be a PITA, but would you give me a recap of just what exactly the non-zoas and non-palys all are??

Thanks a million!

Karen

:) glad you like 'em
Montipora digitata purple one with brown polyps
Montipora digitata orange one with orange polyps
Montipora capricornis orange plate
Acropora valida brown with purple tips and green polyps (tricolor)
Acropora millipora yellow with green fuzzy polyps
Hydnophora sp. green fleshy quarter sized piece - make sure you put this one on a rock you want it on cause it will encrust quickly and has VERY powerful killing ability - don't let anything else touch it!

Frags are cool

:maitre you got some really nice frags. did you get them shipped to you?
i had a guy i was buying from locally but he is like polkaroo.
nice score. i have some polyp frags that i got an they are speading to some other rocks. iwas doing some reading on polyps and apparently they will detach from the colony and propogate in other places. they also go to war with other colonies too. :anxious

Karen, that is really a great looking tank. I looks like you have been at it awhile. Im sure those new frags are going to really liven up the tank as they start to spread. I love looking at the pictures. I am new to the hobby but always have admired the great established looking tanks. GREAT SETUP.

After looking a little closer at your tank I noticed I probably could add a little more sand to mine. how big is your tank? ;-)

Thanks for the compliments Carl! Actually, the tank is only a couple of months old, but I'm very pleased with how it is shaping up. The frags I got from JohnandDawn really make the tank.....and I'm inclined to give credit where it is due. I've only been reefkeeping since May. This is my second marine tank. It's a 29 gallon All Glass that is about 15 years old and housed freshies up until about 3 months ago. Reefkeeping is definitely higher maintenance and bigger $$$$ than freshwater, but the results are so worth the extra effort and all I've needed to keep motivated. Actually it's become somewhat of an addiction. :lol3:

Good luck with your new tank! Don't get discouraged.
