I have a 46gal bowfront and the tank dimensons are 36"Lx15"Wx20"H and my current lighting is the current 150w HQI fixture its got the one 150w HQI 10k and 2 96w pc atinics I was wondering if that is enough light on the tank to sustain a crocea clam that is about 3/4 down directly under the halide ? also is the light strong enough to keep some of the easier kept SPS's ? the total wattage on the light is 342 watts I cant find any par info on the bulb no matter where I look its the bulb that comes standard in the lighting fixture. thank in advance for the help.

I would think that right under the MH no more than about 1/2 way down and he should be good.

Is your tank running very stable? No swings in temp, SG, pH, Alk, Ca?

lol yeh cant forget the pics (Ill get some new ones as soon as I can) No I have never really had any swings to speak of even after switching tanks and such I expected a little swing in even the amonia side of it but nothing and I tested the water and had to LFS with a good reputation test them also and everything checks out A ok. the clam is about 3/4 of the way down but he seems to be alright hes opened right up and the mantle isnt reaching for the light or anything like I have read that it will do if its on the lack side as a matter of fact Ihad him a little higher up before and he kept knocking him self off the ledge I had him on and falling to the bottom of the tank so I was assuming he was getting to much light or flow for his liking so I found a spot a little closer to the bottom and a little more protected from the flow and he seems to like it there hasnt moved or anything in about a wk. but like I had mentioned Ill get pics up as soon as I can.
