I'm interested in getting a Torch coral or Frogspawn coral in the future, but my LFS don't have any nice colored ones.

My question is - is this pic of a Torch accruate concerning the color? Can a Torch really be that bright of a purple with green tips?

Thanks!

white is usually a bad sign (bleaching) the polylp itself and the tentical should have some color beige - brown

That doesn't even look like torch to me. It looks like hammer or frogspawn.

There are a lot of factors to consider when ordering online. There's the same factors you have with a LFS, 'Are they truthful?', 'Are they knowledgeable?', 'How are their prices?'. But with an online company you need to factor in how well they ship things, is the site a WYSIWYG , (what you see is what you get), site, or are the pics simply representative? If the site claims to be WYSIWYG, then they should tell you what type of lights the pictures are taken under, because corals will look different under different lighting combos, and even if something is healthy it won't look the same if you have a different lighting setup than they have.

I haven't seen this site before. I'd check RC to see what folks think of them before ordering from them. FWIW their prices seem to be good on some things and really bad on others. Many of the LFS around here have them beat on most of their prices.
