Is a skimmer needed for zoas/palys

As usual I read to get myself educated with zoa/palys. I read on other forums that zoa/palys tend to grow slower with skimmer due to lower amount of nutrients in the water that the skimmer takes away? This was confirmed by atleast 5 individuals that saw the same out come! One individual stated this, "Its seems zoas like dirty water". Has anyone had the same scenario? They did say a medium current also contributed to rapid growth too. Thanks

Oh yea, what does everyone target feed their zoas/palys too?

To answer your question, a skimmer is not needed for zoas.
I have high current in my nanocube, (3 powerheads) and the zoas are just fine

I dont target feed often at all, maybe once a month, and if i do, its with phytoplankton

i have had great growth no matter what the situation is....frequint water changes, "dirty water", high current, low current, low light, high light, ect..

I run a skimmer and mine are fine. A skimmer is not necessary if water changes are kept up on a regular basis. I have a high amount of flow also and found the zoas/palys love it and I love the long lashes it seems to produce. I do not do supplement feeding at all, I let the lighting do that.
