incysor - a question about your blue stripe pipefish...

Incysor, if I remember correctly, you have a blue stripe pipefish in your reef tank.

I have one in my SH tank, but I have been wondering if I should move my blue stripe to my reef tank. My reef tank has a very healthy population of copepods and amphipods (while my SH tank doesn't), and it seems that the blue stripe pipefish would really love to be in there with those pods. It's a small reef tank, only 15 g., established with great water paramters. I have a pair of juvie Oscellaris in there (very peaceful) and a Yellow Watchman Goby in that tank, LR and LS, soft corals, a few snails.

What do you think? Would it be okay to move her in there? I really want her to get to those pods. I have been supplementing the SH tank with live copepod cultures, but there's not a lot of LR in the SH tank, and so the pods aren't really taking hold and building up populations. Whereas my reef tank is literally crawling with pods of all shapes and sizes.

Follow up to my previous post. I thought about moving one of the rocks from my pod-invested reef into my SH tank, to move some of the pods into the tank where the blue stripe pipefish is. I did that, and it didn't take her long to discover the pods on the rock I moved and start in on them. But that won't last long.

I'm just wondering if the pair of Oscellaris in my reef tank would be too much for the pipefish?? The Clowns are very calm and peaceful, but I wonder if they would become territorial?? Right now they have no competition, as the Yellow Watchman Goby occupies a very small area of the tank. The pipe would be all over that tank, as they are very curious and like to hunt/search for pods.
