:welcome to NT...

Well you're from the UK right i bet the best way to go for you will be the 12g nanocube DX you know to keep some low light corals as softies, but well the mayor problem is not the ability to add more stuff since this is a all in one tank but protein skimmer not needed if weekly water changes, other issue will be the light but that can be fix with simple DIY (do it yourself) if you ever need more help on DIY i can provide you some links with moded hoods with pics and at last some have some heating issues but nothing mayor really...

but anyways other will say that is better to start with a baretank (sorry for spelling) cause you have more flexibility with light, filtration and easy way to add a sump...

in all in one tanks a sump is not really needed if weekly water changes as mentioned but can be done with alot of creativity and patients to do modifications and will be really helpful but dont get me wrong all in one tanks are great mine is 8 months old running without skimmer or sump and everything is looking peachie....

and well there are always store that will ship to the UK the new tanks so dont worry just keep looking and well look at ebay.com there are alot of people willing to ship anywere

and well dont worry feel free to ask more questions we love to answer them if we can

You'll need good clean water, decent salt, Sand, LR, light system, and some flow to get started. Beyond that it's up to you. You could get a skimmer, or not. Water changes in a nano go w/o saying. The most important thing to remember is patience, as this will lead you to long term success with your new nano.
What are your plans/goals for the tank?

Hi Caroline and :welcome to the board.
There are several manufacturers of ready made nanotanks including AquaMedic that is supposed to be releasing a tank this fall. I think that they would be available over in Europe a bit before they will be available to us over here on this side of the pond since AquaMedic is based somewhere over there. Oceanic, JBJ, and Current already have models on the market and I think RedSea is about to add their contribution to the nanotank selection.
If you are set on using a ready made nano instead of using a tank and bulding your own then post what kind you get when you find it and we can then discuss likes and dislikes of that particular model as well as upgrades and changes that are popular with that particular tank.
