I got my first marine reef tank injury tonight... at the LFS. I was digging around in a tank of LR small pieces and got nailed big time by a bristleworm. I ended up with half a dozen bristles stuck in my finger and beneath my fingernail -- can you say OUCH!!! Hurt like the dickens. I had to use tweezers and run my finger under warm water to get them off. Ouch!! Next time I'll let the LFS employees dig around for rocks. :)

OOCH I go to walmart and get rubbergloves so that I dont encounter that and a box of 50 pairs is 4 bucks , since I have tons of allergies it is a good protection tho I question how good since I almost died 6 weeks ago from being stung 6 + times by a bee thro a shirt and a bra .. Just watch for infection ...

all but honey bees can sting multipule times bees in the hymenoptra family dont loose their stinger. they also send out a "scent" to signial bees that they are in danger ,they will also attack

wow. i catch them hold them and squishs them without any stinging.

Me too. I even get the hollow spines in my skin and it doesnt do a thing. I just wash my hands and they come right out. But there are species of bristle worms such as fire bristle that-as the name implies-burn like fire when their toxin enters the skin.
