Well what sort of lighting do you have, what sort of filter do you have, how long has it been set up, etc. The more info the better then we can go about suggesting things.

a clean up crew would be a good addition.

1 snail per gallon is typically needed. I would definitely get some nassarius snails (they are my fav...lol). A few astraeas and ceriths would be another couple that i would add. A cleaner shrimp might be good in the future, but i would wait a few months for the tank and parameters to settle. Other than that, listing your equipment will help us determine what your tank can accommodate.

thanks i

have a 5 gallon eclipse with a 50/50 10 watt light. I don't have a powerhead, just the basic filter with some biorings on top of the foam. I bought a pepermint shrimp and that is all so far.

Yeah you really cant keep any corals with that light. That is the main problem with the Eclipses too is that you can really even upgrade the lighting. I would suggest thinking about a small goby or two, a few small inverts and that is about it. Are you using live rock in the tank? If so, I would suggest removing the bio-rings and allow the live rock to take care of the biological filtration.

you can keep soft corals in there. zoanthids and mushrooms might be a choice. I have a hex-5 eclipse. I carved out the hood and switched the bulb for the 20 watt 50/50. It's much brighter.
as far as the filtration, i use the filter pads that come with it. then i got a filter sock and added hypersorb to the compartment where the bio-wheel should have gone. but I am fighting cyano, so it's not necessary. I would add a small powerhead, like a zoo-med mini 404 or something equivalent to get some lower flow.

as far as fish, i use it as a grow-out tank for other's in my local fish club and my LFS. i have to very tiny baby clowns and a very tiny baby yellow watchman goby...
When I say tiny, nobody is over an inch long.
My hermits are bigger than my fish. 2 scarlet leg and 2 blue leg.
I also have 4 nassarius snails and 2 nerite snails.
