Hello everyone, there is a tank im interested in its the TRU VU 6g heres the link http://www.innovativelights.com/tru-nano.html im thinking of getting that and the 36w coralife light that you can add, I dont want anything special just soft corals maybe 1 clownfish and a cleanup crew? My question is do you think its worth the price and what should I put in the compartments to help benefit filtration? another thing what else can I do to reduce evaporation? putting a clear acrylic lid over the covering?

Thnx for your time!! :gcool

would a 5.5g with an aquaclear 500 work out? with the 36w coral?

An AC500 won't fit on the back of an 5.5g. If you go with a 10g it'll be fine, and the tank will only cost you a few dollars more.

i agree with hooterhead, just get a 5.5 or 10 glass tank and add a filter. Im assuming that you are just beginning, and i think that the glass will be less trouble for you than acrylic. I know that petco has 10 gal for around $10 and 5.5 for about $15. The filter will only cost you $30 to $40, depending on which one you get. The 36 watt would prob be good for a 5.5, but you would want more for a ten. a good light that i have and would recommend for the ten would be the Current USA satellite 20" 2x20 watt fixture. i like it because it has a built in moonlight and fan. also the bulbs are similar, if not the same, as the sunpaq bulbs.

there is also a 20" 96 watt from caralife that would work, and i know that that is the fixture that seems to be preferred on this website. it is also a couple bucks cheaper.

for the price you would pay for that tank, you could get an AGA, the 96w light, heater, cheap PH, and filter.if you do research and do some surfing to find the cheapest prices. i have all of the above and it didnt go over that price. good luck and happy reefing
