I went to my LFS and picked up some empty shells for my blue-legged hermits, and guess what!! Another stowaway Micro Brittle Star!! That's two now in just a few days. They must have these Micros all throughout their livestock tanks. Now I have two of them! Woohoo! I think I'll go back and buy all their empty shells -- I'd probably have a herd of Micro Stars that way. :)

It's not like your normal LFS is trying to sell these little guys...They're just present in the coral tanks and hitch-hike on your purchases. This is pretty common. Sometimes you can get them if your LFS has a tank setup to sell live sand out of. Another good possibility would be if they're selling macro algae.

Yep. It's amazing how many I find when I do a water change and I vacuum up detritus/algae.

I do my best to rescue them before pouring the old water out, but I'm sure I lose some of them.

I must be getting these little darlings from somewhere, because now there are more than I can count in my tank. At night, after dark, I get out a flashlight and look on my sand bed and those little arms are waving all over the place. I don't know how many I have now, but there are quite a number of them.

They must be coming in rock, or coral frags (with rocks), I did buy some macroalgae -- maybe they came in with that, empty hermit shells, etc... I could watch these little guys for hours -- they are very entertaining and very cute.
