I went to a place that I usually buy all my liverock and other stuff from a few weekends ago and got a surprise!!!!!

I'll leave the places name out of the post :) just because :moonin

OK.

A few weekends ago I went to my usual place to buy some coral's and a new CUC for my biocube 14. Well I was looking in their liverock tubs and I saw a bubble coral, not sure what it was exactly, i'm new to saltwater so I don't know the scientific name od the corals and fish yet, but i'll get their :) anyway, the guy working there said it was dying and wouldn't come back, and since he's never steered me wrong and I trust him, I let it go. I continued to browse the bins and I found 2 pieces of live rock, the looked like dead LPS coral, I liked the design of the rock so I bout both pieces, the total came to around $12.95 for the 2. Last night I had a buddy over who's really into saltwater and helps me out alot. He was looking in my new BC 14 and got alittle excited and wanted me to come look at what he was pointing at. It was a group of soft corals, that I overlooked, they blended in to the coraline algea really good.

After he looked and finally identified them (too double check, and make sure) They were BLASTO'S WHOOPIE :) I'm alittle exicted I got something I looked at in the tanks, and that at the current time couldn't afford. and now I have them, awesome!!!

They are identified as Blastomussa Merletti I have 8-10 polyps on the rock. Needless to say, but i'm going back to that special place (LOL) this weekend, to look at more of their live rock!

I got quite a few polyps on my LR as well. It is fun getting things like that without having to pay for them. I search every piece of Rock I get now.

I'm starting to do the same.

Hehe it is fun, and it makes the hobby better for me. The more I can save the green the better.

HITCHHIKERS

My tank has been up and running for four months now, and I have just discovered that I have Sargassum and Halimeda incrassata, and a green hairy mushroom anemone growing on my l.r. This is very exciting since it is totally unexpected. That's what's makes this hobby so great.

Yep, it makes it fun.
Another bonus, my wife has always been, shall we say lukewarm, about my FW tanks, but since I started reef marine she has been as fascinated as I am by the various life-forms that keep showing up there. :D
