Two small fish in a 12 should be good IMO.

Maybe 4 or 5 tangs would look good too....hehehe just kidding [-X

I agree, any more than 2 and you're flirting with disaster. Nanos are too small and water quality can change very fast, especially with a high bioload.

It really depends more on the type of fish, and the filtration method used.

If you're talking about a unmodded 12gal nanocube then 2 very small fish is probably about right. Something along the line of a yellow watchman goby and a cleaner goby. But I've seen people run 20-30gal refugiums on 10gal tanks. If this was the case then you could probably handle a mix of 4-5 small fish.

Personally I never really understood doing something like this. Why would you make the smaller tank the display tank? Although the nano cubes look a lot nicer than plenty of 20-30gal tanks I've come across at garage sales for 50 cents that would make fine fuges. So maybe it can make sense.

:D

My 10 is packed to the gills with rock and then have the ac200, im actually able to fit 3 fish in there w/o killing my self, right now theirs just mr firefish and the cinnamon clown, the cinnamons big so il probably almost definitly keep it right their now
