hi i have a 10gl nano wilth the standard tricle filter noy sure what type,about 5 to 7kg live rock and a sand bea is about 2to3 intch.
iv been told by my pet shop that it ist a idia to keep the filter(nitrate time bomb) what elce can i use i thought i cud use more lr and a powerhead wilth 3times turn over.the media is rings carbon 2 pads.thanks for the time

i personally would buy a AquaClear HOB filter, and not use the foam. fill the filter with LR rubble and then place the carbon on top. ran that set-up for some time and had good luck, plus regular water changes. JMO.
