Help! Pump Problems :(

I have a 12 gallon cubemaster bought. I started with putting the media in, from the left side where the water comes in I put the black foam pad, int he next compartment the fitler floss, the next the ceramic media and carbon media.

I filled my tank up with water to meet the filters, and turned on the pump, and it is making a noise as if something is blocking it. I reached my hand down and I can feel the water working though. Should I take all the media out then run the pump to see if its woring?

Firstly, if it were me, I don't think I'd use the filter floss or the ceramic media but that is a different topic for another time. To answer your original question, my powerheads/pumps/filters sometimes get grit, sand, dirt blocking the impeller. With this being your first time filling it, maybe it got gunked up. So yes, I'd take it out and give it a good shake or even a slight tap and see what happens. Best of luck and let us know if that works.

Thanks so much! If I take it out nothing will happen or damage the pump right? I just want to get all the stuff out if there is and see if it will run smoothly.

And if that does not work should I try taking the pump out to see if it is stuck? Can I do that?

Just make sure to run the pump with water and not dry. You shouldn't harm anything.

I took it all out and it still will not work. A few things floated up, but that was it. What now :(?

I think I know what might be the problem. I did run the pump try to make sure it was working when I first got the tank, but it was only for about 1 minutes. Could that kill the pump?

Ok I found out the problem I think. The pump is positioned wrong in the filter. When I move it around, it starts to come out a little. How should the pump be positioned to make the water come out and are there any easy ways of getting this done (a little hard with the suction cups on the pump).

Also I know the built in ready pumps like this one do not have as much power, so how much water to I expect to come out of this so I know it is properly working? Will there be a big bubbling in it?

I pulled the pump out and the tube on the side. Here is a picture of the pump. Please direct me on how to put it and the tube back in correctly to make it work.

I really appreciate it guys! :D

Is there any adjustment on the bottom or back that will increase the flow? If so, try messing with that. Maybe its set too low.
