FINALLY DECIDED TO START A SALT WATER TANK BEEEN DOING MY HOME WORK ON THIS NANO TANK WHAT IVE FOUND I LIKE ....
? IS I WANT TO HAVE EVERYTHING THAT A LARGER TANK CAN HANDLE BUT RITE NOW DONT KNOW IF ITS BETTER TO CONVERT OUR 60 GALLON FRESH TO SALT ( IF I DO I KNOW ILL END UP GOING OVERBOARD) COST WISE & SPACE IT SEEMS NANO THE WAY BUT ?
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AS DIVERSE A POPULATION AS POSS IN A TANK CORALS INVERTS 1/2 DOZ FISH OR SO TO GET GOING THEN EVENTUALLY CONVERTOVER TO LARGER TANK & ADD ON ONCE ESTABLISHED....... AND THEN USE THE NANO AS A SECOND TANK.

I HAVE A GOOD IDEA AS TO WHAT I WANT AS FAR AS FISH & THEY ALL SEEM TO BE COMPATABLE FOR A SMALL TANK............BUT WOULD IT BE BEST TO START WITH STARTER GROUPS OF INVERTS CLEANERS & ROCK TO LEARN SYSTEM UPKEEP THEN ADD ON LATER IN THE NANO

ANY & ALL ADVICE WELCOME HAVE A GOOD DAY...........
PS: THINK IF YOU HAD THE ABILITY TO START ALL OVER YOURSELF
WOULD THERE BE ANYTHING YOU WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENT

Just wanted to say that if you plan on keeping 6 fish in a nano, you might as well get your self a nice JBJ Nano cube 24 or the Bio Cube 29.
Even at that in my experience you will only want to keep 3 or 4 at the most.

Your best bet to start off a nano would be to get the tank you want set up and running with salt water for about 24-48 hours, and then pickup some live rock. Hold off on the inverts for about 2-3 weeks. Then after the rock is mostly cured in the tank, start adding your inverts. My advice pick up 3-5 hermits and 2-4 snails. Then wait another 2-3 weeks before adding any thing else.

And one last piece of advice take your time the more patient you are the better your tank will look.
