Halide system just came in need height now....

I just got my halide system, 250 watt with 14K bulb.

Tank specs:

shallow Frag tank

Depth: Sand bed 4 inches deep and water level 5-6 inches!!!!

How far do you think the pendant should be from the water itself? Right now I have the pendant 19.5 inches away from the waters surface.

not sure exactly but 19.5 sounds good to me. if your corals start to look unhealthy move it up higher.

Umm... I would keep it right there... you mean to say that you only have 5"-6" of water?? Keep a close eye out for bleaching... that is overkill for just about everything.

Jesse, I can always increase the water depth by 2 inches. If that doesn't help, I can always reduce the sand bed too.
