Good customer service story at Lowes

About half a year ago I purchased a digital timer from Lowes (maybe Home Depot). It was Ingrahm brand and originally went for around $20. It worked fine but within the last few months, it would do some really whacky things like reset the time periods or go on/off randomly which was not good for my tank.

So today I'm out the door to go to Lowe's to bite the bullet and drop some more cash to get a new one and I decide to just bring the old one with me just in case. I get to the store and they don't carry that brand of timer anymore and I'm about to give up on the exchange. I found one that was similar and brought it back to the return counter. The cleck was doubtful if he could do an exchange (as was I) if they didn't have the same brand in stock. I then talked to the customer service manager for a while and explained to her what it was doing. She tells me that she thinks Home Depot carried that brand blah, blah. One minute later, I've got the replacement in my hot little hand and they just did a quick exchange. She didn't even ask me how long I had it. I didn't even have the box or reciept. Anyways, I've always been a HD fan but this service at Lowe's made my day. Just thought I'd share...

same thing with...

Timex Timers, same way. Some are good and some are bad. When I bought the second timer it was a fluke. It would turn on/off, it would reset the preset time periods. A big mess! Then it finally just died. I took it back to Target and just exchanged it for another, no problem. I wonder also if it's a power issue, like too much juice going in them or what not. I've put each timer on a diff circuit with their own power strip. I haven't had any more issues now since getting the new one and using the new method.
