Well were i live its very hot during the summer and at night so i constatly try to keep the temperature in the 78 to 82s. Since i have to space to add fans i tried ice packs! wut i do is get some small ice packs at wall mart about $1 a piece. I bought about 5 just in case. Freeze them and insert them into my HOB filter. it works great. just 1 pack cools down the tank about 2 degrees in about 15min. They melt kinda fast so its advised to get a couple.

We've tried frozen water bottles for the heat wave we've had here in California. They seem to bring it down for about 20 mins or so one degree at most. Besides they do melt really fast, so they seem almost worthless.

Wonder if the blue ice takes longer to melt.....
