Getting out bristle worms

Alright I"m breaking down my 5 gallon nano and my 20l to combine everything into my 66.

So in my nano is about a 10-12 pound rock with bristle worms inside. I have seen 4-5 inch long ones and seen baby bristle worms. So I took the rock out and put it into a container with water with a high salinity (I mean very high). After an hour alot of smaller worms were curled up dead. I then took an hour and a half trip to get some frags and tole the owner what I'm doing. He suggested bristles hate cold water so I stuck more than enough ice cubes in there. He stated to wait for atleast 2 hours.

I've sat here for more than two hours and no large bristles. Could it have just died in the rock. I had the water at one point at 40degrees. Please help.

The brittleworm could have died in the rock, hard to say. Are you sure it was in that exact piece?

Why would you want to remove the brittleworms? They are a good part of the clean up crew.

When their monsters I really don't care about them. Nor do I like getting bristles logged into my skin when moving rocks. ha,ha,ha

I was using Joe's Juice in my 15 gallon the other day to treat an infestation of aiptasia when I inadvertantly doused a bristleworm with the Juice. It killed the bristleworm almost immediately. He curled right up and croaked. Joe's Juice says it's harmless to all other things in the tank, besides aiptasia and Marano anenomes, but I noticed that if you cover anything in the stuff, it'll kill it. Particularly bristleworms. Also, when I use Joe's Juice (which really works, by the way), the tiny micro brittle worms that are nearby the aiptasia that I am targeting take off and scoot away as quickly as they can. They do not want to be in the vicinity of this stuff.

if i see some crazy large ones while feeding, the next time i drop my bristle worm trap in right next to where i say them. i tie a piece of fishing line around it so i can retrieve it later. i levae the smaller ones and take the larger ones and put them in my fuge. the trap works great.
