I have a five-gallon glass tank in my window. I'm running an aqua clear 20 and a Q max TC-30. It's a small canister filter I found on the street, removed the pebble from the impeller. I gave it a wash and, voila, a perfectly good filter. I don’t have lights, but my tank sits in between two windows that get southern and western exposure as well as plenty of light. In my tank, I keep only captive bred coral and fish. I have two false pearl eye clowns, a few zooanthids, a couple of monteys, a small colony of pulsing zineia, and way too much macro algae. Oh, and live rock, of course! I like a bare bottom system because it's easier to keep clean. I do have one problem: aptasia. Yes, this is the most evil creature known to man. I watched one take a good-sized food pellet. Little stinkers. I may have to get some shrimp. If you have any good ideas on getting rid of the evil ones, let me know. I'll post some pics after I clean my tank. Thanks for reading.
