WELL THE CLEANUP CREW IS DECIDED, AND NOW ITS TIME FOR THE STARS. I WANT MY FISH TO BE VERY HAPPY! RIGHT NOW I AM THINKING 2 MATED CLOWNS AND A GREEN CHROMID. HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS. WHICH CLOWN SUBSPECISE ARE SMALL ENOUGH TO ENJOY THEIR NANO FOR A LIFETIME (10 GAL)? AND 2 WHAT ELSE WOULD PLAY WELL WITH THEM BESIDES A GREEN CHROMID? WHO GOES IN THE TANK FIRST THE CLOWNS OR THE CHROMID (OR OITHER SUGGESTION)

Ten gallons is a bit small for any pair of clown IMO. I have two fake ocellarus tank bred (more resistant to disease and some of the most peaceful and hardiest clown fish out there - or so I've been told). Any bottom dwelling fish should do ok as the clowns are mid to high swimmers. Firefish (red, purple, and helfrich) are nice but are mid swimmers too.

For an alternative check out some clown gobies. The choice is yours but you may have to upgrade or move your clowns if they get too big. You will be able to tell due to change in behavior.

THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION! I DID MORE RESEARCH AND STUMBLED UPON THE CITRON CLOWN GOBIE. AWESOME FISH! I THINK I WILL GET ONE! THE ONLY REASON I WAS GOING TO GET 2 CLOWNS IS BECAUSE I HEARD THAT IT IS BEST TO KEEP 2 AT A TIME. IF THIS IS WRONG I WOULD BE TOTALLY OK WITH ONE. THAT WAS MY ORIGIONAL PLAN ANYWAY.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A LINE ON A WEBSITE WITH REASONABLE SHIPPING PRICES ON LIVESTOCK? I CAN'T TRUST MY LFS ANYMORE (THEY KNOWLINGLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF A TOTAL NEWB...ME). I JUST DONT FEEL LIKE PAYING 60 BUCKS TO SHIP 20 DOLLARS WORTH OF FISH!

Lol. That is the catch with online vendors. Most offer a good stay alive policy but overnight shipping is expensive. I'm sorry that the LFS incident happened to you, but you can always check with forums (cough cough  ) and anyone online will try to help as best as possible.

YEAH, SO I WONT GO INTO IT BUT WHAT HE DID WAS BORDERLINE ILLEGAL BUT ITS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE TO GET TOO INVOLVED. THE FREE MARKET WILL TAKE CARE OF HIM. HE WILL PROBALLY LOOSE A TON OF BUSINESS WITH ME GONE(HEHEHE) WHAT ABOUT THE CLOWN SITUATION? HAVE TO HAVE 2 FOR THEM TO BE HAPPY? MY MOM WHO LIVES ABOUT 7 HRS AWAY HAS A AMAZING LFS THAT WE USED GROWING UP AND VOULINTEERED TO TRANSPORT ANYTHING FOR ME AND COME VISIT THE GRANDAUGHTER. SHE IS GONNA CHECK THIS WEEK IF THEY HAVE/CAN GET A GOOD CITRON CLOWN GOBY.

They don't NEED two. But if there are a pair one of them usually assumes a more dominant female role and they both benefit from the relationship (IMO). But I have seen plenty of solitary clown fish and they appeared to be in perfect health.
