Feather Duster !!!

My feather duster was fine however when I woke up this morning the crown had fell off, I inspected and found that there was still something in the tube. So I though it was just growing a new crown. Now I have just returned from college to find this slug looking thing, which has come out of the featherduster tube .... Help what should I do ?

I does not necessarily mean it's dead or dying , although this is generally a serious stress response. A new tentaclular crown can grow back if the water conditions are ideal, but you should pay special attention to your tank parameters when this happens.

Just leave him alone he may build a new tube however the chances are very slim that he will do so .If you notice that he seems to be dying or dead remove him ... something irritated him enough to make him want to move out . With out pictures it is hard to say for certian that it is or is not a worm ..... just keep a close eye on him to see if he is rebuilding or not . It is also unlikely that he will return to his tube but not out of the relm of possibilities . Hope this helps yo

I checked the images that you posted, but I can only see the tube and the crown.
Steven try to see if you can spot the slug lying around in your tank to make sure it's not dead.

I knwo this slug thing came from the feather duster tube because when I noticed the crown had fallen off I obviously inspected the tube and the top of this slug thing is what I could see in the tube and now it is moving around on the sand but does not seem to be getting any were. Should I put it some where myself i.e. a hole in a rock etc ..... the slug thing has spikes all along the side of its body though. BTW params are fine. I can not think of any thing to stress it out ... everything has remaind stable.

Some times we just cant figure out what ticked them off. Mine decrowned and it grew a new one . I would say that perhaps it may have been irritated buy a parasite or even a bristle worm ....tho I am not to sure on that . These guys can be finniky here is a link where it was discussed

It is like Andre said it does not mean that it is dead or dying but just keep a close eye on him. There are no real interventions for him at this point .....other than to keep the water pristine and clean . I would not touch him or his tube this may persuade him not to go back on his own however slim the chance are that he will .

The coral is a green star polyp it should open it is just adjusting to the new tank perameters (sometimes this can take a few weeks)
