I got some new corals and snails last Monday for my 12 gallon nano. The guy told me that for my algae problem, I should get an Emerald mythrax crab. I asked him if they'd eat my other animals. He assured me that he was reef safe. Well, half my tank is full of algae but the crab just sat in my colony of star polyps and ate and ate and ate. I finally grabbed him with tweezers and put him in to a guppy breeding trap in the tank. I can't leave him in there as the thing is blocking proper flow and the lid from closing. The store is an hour away; I'm not going back there. Local stores and people don't want him. I do have a 3 gallon Eclipse tank. I really don't have time for another tank but guess I have no choice but to set that up and put him in there. Aside from advice on this, I was wondering if I set up that tank, what could I put in there? It has cheapo fluorescent lighting (so no corals), and being tiny and having the crab in there, that basically means no other animals right? Anyone in MD want him?
