well the back left corner is where my overflow spills in and comes through a foam filter. also next to that is my emperor 280 bio wheel filter. the water overflows through a DIY tray that holds bio balls( i have to redo it, i didnt make it big enough). the tray is removable for cleaning of the pump and protein skimmer (this pic i dont have the protein skimmer in, a little experiment). i have about twenty five pounds of LR, and twenty pounds of sand. for plant growth i have some halimeda clippings from my main tank, turtle grass, some kelp, and i cant remember the name but its some kind of feeding algea(it just floats near my overflow). for critters i have two peppermint shrimp, one sand sifter star, scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp, matrix crab, blue legs, and a shit load of baby turbo snails. in my sump i have a mag drive MD5 pump, 150 watt heater, and a sea clone 100 (i hacked about five or six inches off it so it would fit in the sump) protein skimmer. lighting im using a coarlife 24" 64watt PC fixture with a 50/50 bulb(it stays on for about 20 hours.

i think that covers about everything, if i missed something just ask.

I have a 96w quad 50/50 light. Stripped it out of a coralife fixture I modded into a 70w halide.

I love my sump. Keeps the tank self sustaining until I remember to do water changes.

Nope. Here's why

1 - Their stands cost way too much. Especially the one for the 30 cube.
2 - It felt and looked cheap to me. It even looked unsafe to hold the weight. I know this isn't true, but I did not feel comfortable with that stand.
3 - Their stand did not allow any way to add a sump. You could, but it would be a very oddball shape and so on and so forth.

So, I had this one made. Simple and perfect for my needs. I feel safer with this construction and it allows me to have a larger sump without any major altercations to a stand or anything that would "stand out". You reall do not notice the stand when your looking at the tank. It's white and all you pretty much see is the main tank and the sump. My origional goal was to put velcro on the 3 sides and attach a very light 1/4 inch board around the stand. Give it a more professional look but also allow me easy access underneath. Never got around to it and it's current state does not bother me. I like to look at the sump when I view the tank.
