Ed,

Soooooo sorry to hear you have visitors.....

My best weapon so far has been a rigid tube hooked to air line tubing. I start the suction and then go looking for the little basterds! Look for closed zoos, that is the first sign that they are present. Another trick I have used is to check early in the morning when all the zoos are closed and you can inspect the colony much better.

The good news from what I can tell, is I don't think they kill the zoos, if you keep after them. The 6.6 Bookshelf nano, where I have been having them is still doing good and it doesn't look like I have lost any zoos.

The bad news is, I still suck out one here and there, even after this long running battle.

I wish you the best of luck and be sure you will soon know every zoo polyp, on a first name basis......

Thx brando .....im gonna bread hard and keep on fighting...

Dickie ohh thx im already sucking does things out of my tank but i know for sure this is not a easy battle but ill do my best. just a note i never check on the colony that i found the nudi cause they were all the time open except for a tiny part but thats the spot of my cleaner shrimp so i thought that was cause of him that the polyps didnt open so i guess i was wrong but anyways ....

HERE IS SOMETHING REALLY HELPFUL TO KILL ANY PARASITES OR FUNGUS.....SUGGESTED AND LINKED BY THE BIG HELP OF JESSE ...REEFMAN....THX PAL for helping me with this one.

Hey ed...

This may or may not work for you...he says it kills fungi, flatworms, and nudis but not their eggs...

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showt ... did=451720

I have heard of this same dip before, so it is legitament.

Jesse

No prob Ed. I would suggest this dip...or a similar Logul's dip...everytime you add a new zoanthid colony to a tank. Its an easy way to keep from introducing any unwanted things such as fungi or FW, especially if you add a little bit of Flatworm Exit to the dip.

Any diea how long it takes for the eggs to hatch? With that information you could dip the zoos and then dip them again about a day after they should have hatched to take care of any that were missed due to their still being eggs. I think this would be a good treatment regimen as long as dipping isn't too stressful on the zoos.

hey ed do you have a small tank to throw the infected colony in? you could dip it quarentine it in a seperat tank so if any eggs hatch they don't spread and then redip the coral before reintroducing it to your tank?
also do you know where the infected colony came from?

Ed,
Don't get crazy with the dip!!! Zoos don't like to be moved, it will be like you just put them in and will take months to be back to growing and being happy. Just keep your eyes peeled for any nudi and get them!
