crabs

I bought one emarld crab and i have never bought another or LR for my tank. I used LR from my old tank. the only new rock is the ones that i bought because of mushrooms attached to it. the other day i saw the emerald and it looked dead so i took it out. a few days later I saw the dang crab. how can i tell if it is a mult? it was a whole body with the claws and legs still on. the back of the supposidly dead crabs was missing.
any clue? did i have a rogue crab or was it a molt.

i agree, it's a molt. Here's a question to throw out...if a emerald crab loses a leg or two? Will it eventually grow it back little by little when it molts?

I am not 100% sure but I believe they can regenerate lost limbs. I know a shrimp can grow new limbs after molting but I am not sure about a crab.
