Concerts

Good luck to anyone trying to get U2 tickets, both shows sold out in 20minutes. I was on the ball online ready to rock and roll. Started my request and the server booted me not once but twice, and then it was too late. Then they announced a second show and I swear I was first in line for that, then got booted not once but twice and then it was too late. Dammit! I'm not a huge single band concert fan but I did want to see U2.

But, all is not lost. The Coachella lineup was announced today. Check this out:

I will be here and I do really enjoy these types of concerts.

I thought about going to burning man, but it's turned into a huge commercial festival that, aside from the giant burning pile, has lost its real function of release.

At least that was the vibe I got from people way back in '00.

To each their own. Just bring lots of water and TP. And body paint so you can run around bucknekkid in the desert.

Ummm...I'm not sure who you were talking to, but since there's not vendors/vending, it's not a commercial festival at all.

I've been to Burning Man in Nevada 4 times.
I've been to the Texas Regional one, (Flipside), 6 times.

As the size of the venue has increased and people have died, there have been rules implemented that weren't in force in the early days of BM. Stuff like, no driving your cars around in a white out. No setting off fireworks in your camp, etc... I've heard the same, "It's not like it used to be." kind of complaints about everything. And they're right...Things change, and they can never stay 'exactly' the same. Who'd want that anyway?
