Complete newbie

Hi All

I have just purchased a River reef 94 litre aquarium...I would like to set it up as a marine tank I know basics but can anyone reckommend what protien skimmer will work with my set up. It has 2 circulation pumps will this be enough ? Hope to eventually stock it with soft corals and some fish would appreciate any advise.

With just fish and softies, you are getting into this the easy way. Don't get me wrong - fish is what gets most of us interested, and down the road is still a favorite for me; my tastes have just become more expensive

2 circulation pumps of what size? Even with just soft corals, good flow is vital! Try to turn over the volume of the tank at least 12x/hr. So if each gets you about 600 liters/hour, you should be okay as a starting point.

As for a skimmer - checking with your local fish store (LFS) is going to be my first recommendation. There aren't many bad skimmers still on the market.

Thank you for the advise just ordered 2 extra circulatiom pumps so think should have sufficent flow when they arrive. As for skimmer will read/learn more about them then decide which to go for. many thanks for your time & trouble in answering my questions.
